Fine for mistakes on advertising signboards in Abu Dhabi.
The next time you are putting up a signboard in Abu Dhabi, make sure you have the required permission for it. Also, ensure that there are no spelling mistakes in the text. Putting up a signboard without permission and making linguistic or grammatical mistakes in signboards will attract penalties.
According to Falah Mohammed Al Ahbabi, Head of the Department for Urban Planning and Municipalities, a fine of Dh5,000 will be issued for putting up a signboard without authorization. Linguistic mistakes in the signboard will attract a fine of Dh1,000, according to a report in Al Bayan.
A fine of Dh10,000 will be levied if the incorrect or misleading information is displayed on the signboard.
The law also applies to fixed or temporary ads on buildings in public or other visible areas.
No ads may be placed without proper authorization or without following the guidelines stipulated in the official manual.
